The Prime Minister, asked what the present position was ?n respect to wool realisation, said communications were still passing between the New Zealand Government, the High Commissioner, and the Imperial authorities, and an early conclusion to these is anticipated. The matter, he added, could quite well have been fixed by now, but for the fact that the Government is particularly desirous of safeguarding the interests of New Zealand in every direction, and it is largely in connection with the provision of these safeguards that the present negotiations are taking place. Having full realisation of the Imperial Government’s good feeling towards the Dominion, Mr. Massey has every hope that the safeguards considered necessary will be provided for.
