In the final of the men’s handicap doubles. Walker and Cowper beat Booth and Roydhouse 70—64. . . In the final of the ladies’ championship doubles, Mesda.mes Melody and Potter beat Misses Cato and Welwood, 6—l, 6—2. WELLINGTON CHAMPIONSHIPS. By Telegraph.—Tresfi Association. *■ Wellington, Last Night. The Wellington provincial lawn tennis championships concluded at Masterton/ to-day. The. morning was fine but a heavy thunder storm came up later and several finals were concluded In pouring rain. In the final linen’s handicap singles, Barkman beat. France 70—59. In the final men’s handicap doubles Walker and Cowper beat Booth and Roydhouse 70—64. The final ladies' championship doubles was won by Mrs. Melody and Mrs. Potter, who defeated Miss Cato and Miss Wellwood 6 1, 6—2. Owing to the rain the final men’s championship singles were not finished, but will be concluded at tie Dannevirke tournament, when Power (Wellington) will meet. Walker (Hawke’s Bay). Miss Nancy Curtis, New Zealand lady champion. won the provincial singles championship, defeating Mrs. Melody (Wellington) 6—2, 6—l. Mrs. Parkinson won the final ladies’ handicap singles, defeating Mrs. T. Shailer Weston (Wellington) 50—4'7. Mesdames Ken Groves (Masterton) and Parkinson (Petone) beat Misses I’ragnell and D. Vile (Masterton) in the handicap doubles The combined handicap doubles final went to Cowan and Mrs. Parkinson, who defeated Well wood and Miss Graham 60—57,
