ADMIRALTY METHODS.

WHY THE GOEBEN ESCAPED. By Telegraph.—Preu Awn.—Copyright. London, Jan. 23. Admiral Milne, in the Sunday Express, concludes describing how on August 8 the pursuit of the Goeben was interrupted for 24 hours by the Admiralty ordering immediate hostilities against Austria, then countermanding these orders on the 9th on the ground that Britain was not at war with Austria. The resumption of the pursuit was ordered, but the Goeben and Breslau were at the Dardanelles on the 10th and proceeded to Constantinople.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
