MOUMAHAKI STATE FARM.
QUESTIONS FOR GOVERNMENT. At a meeting of the committee of the N.Z.F.U- for the Wanganui Sub-Proyin-cial District, held recently, it was decided to put the following questions before the Minister of Agriculture on his forthcoming visit to the Moumahaki State Farm:— “That the Minister of Agriculture be asked to erect a hostel at Moumahaki Experimental Farm to accommodate up to 30 boys to learn up-to-date agricultural and practical farming; length of term to be arranged to allow each applicant an opportunity to attend during the year.” “That the Minister be urged to reinstate the experts at the farm, and to run purebred horses and fowls, as in the past; also to reinstate root and various grass plots and top dressings.” “That the Agricultural Department be urged to reconstruct the organisation of the Moumahaki Experimental Farm, so that it be the central development farm from Marton north, and that the departmental experts located at Moumahaki be available for instructional purposes at the smaller demonstration farms.” “That winter schools for farming should be organised in the winter months in connection with the Moumaliaki Experimental Farm, as at Ruakura Farm of Instruction.” “That a thorough system of practi- ' cal and useful experiments in, say, I quarter-acfe plots with fodder crops, roots, grasses, and pastures be carried I out on the different farms throughout ' the district, the Government to supply ; seeds, manure, and supervision, and the | farmer the work.”
