EMPIRE SHOOTING.
IMPERIAL CHALLENGE SHIELD. NEW PLYMOUTH’S SUCCESS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The results of the rifle shooting competitions for senior and junior cadets throughout the British Empire for the Imperial Challenge Shield are to hand. They are:— Seniors.—Royal Australian Naval Brigade team (Cairns), average score 93.2 points for each member. Juniors.—Royal Naval Barracks Boys’ Brigade, Devonport, England, 90.8 points. Of the New Zealand teams the New Plymouth High School wa/j the most successful. The school entered eight teams and each team won a prize, and also special prizes and £l2 10s. In the seniors New Plymouth secured third, sixth and eighth places, all being medal winners. In the juniors they were third with a score of 91.1, and receifid medals for twelfth and eighteenth place. The Otago High School was the only other prize winner, being placed sixty seventh. New Zealand entered 67 teams.
