MAIL BOAT HELD UP.
WATERSIDERS GIVE TROUBLE, EXTRA PAY TO HANDLE MAILS. By Telegraph.-—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Makura, which arrived from Vancouver this morning, was to have aailed tor Sydney to-night, but the watersiders refused to lift the mails from the hold, which they said had cement dust on the floor, without extra payment ae dirt money 7. The departure of the vessel was consequently postponed until noon to-morrow. The watereiders started work at about one o’clock and stopped shortly after. They then demanded dirt hioney, and it Is understood the request is still under consideration.
