Trustees, managers anc teachers in State institutions are requested to help nationalise them. Lawyens are asked to suspend practice and devote their attention to nationa'. service. Merchants and traders an asked to assist in the economic boycott The resolution emphasised that nonviolence was an integral part of the non-co-operation movement. Violence is regarded not only as contrary to the tru< spirit of democracy, but as retarding th< enforcement of non-co-operation* A special appeal was made for effort! to advance Hindu and Moslem union, t« settle all disputes between Brahmins and non-Brahmins. Dec. 30., The Indian National Congress at Nagpur carried Gandhi’s resolution that the constitution should have as its object th.* attainment by the people of India of the aims of the non'-co-operation movement by all peaceful and legitimate means. It also provides for the organisation of committees throughout the eountrv for service, to be called “India’s N.-.tional Service ” A national fund is to be established to finance the movement. The Congress decided to ask the police ar soldiers to refuse to subordinate their creed and country to the fulfilment of their duties, and appealed to the Government servants, pending calling upon them to resign, to help the national cause by greater kindness and stricter and honest dealing with the people.—Reuter
