ANTHRAX VACCINE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, Dec. 30. The trustees of the Mc(Jarse Smith Institute, which a year ago supplied the South African Minister of Agriculture with McGarvie Smith anthrax vaccine, have received a communication from Africa stating that the vaccine lias been subjected to the most severe tests possible and has proved successful. The Argentine lias just completed (ests on a smaller scale and has cabled reporting extreme satisfaction. j THE COAL INDUSTRY. Sydney, Dec. 30. The compulsory coal conference convened to deal with the-dispute in the coal and coke industry adjourned without reaching a decision, mainly owing to the absence of representatives of the Victorian Government which disputes (the right of the Commonwealth to [legislate for the conduct of State industries.
