ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A MAORI CRUSHED: By Telegraph.—Press Association. 1 Wairoa, Dec. 28. A Maori, Tene Putaranui, died in hospital on Sunday as the result of having been crushed by a cask of beer in a dray In some manner not yet explained. The inquest was opened on Sunday, and, after formal evidence, was adjoined for a week.
