The Young Men's Christian Association has been attacked in a decree by the Holy Office, asking Bishops to watch those organisations which, while professing absolute freedom of thought in religious matters, instil indifferentism and apostacy to the Catholic religion Iti the minds of their adherents. The decree mentions the Y.M.C.A., which, it states, is upheld by many Catholics who are ignorant of its real nature, and it declares it corrupts the faith of youths. The decree recalls the canon law which forbids paper sand periodicals of organisations favoring religious rationalism, and requests bishops to communicate to the Holy See within two months the decisions taken at the regional congresses on the subject.—Aus.-N.Z.
