SIX MILLION LOAN.

SALES BELOW PAR. By Telep-aph.—Press Association. Wellington, Deo. 7. The Prime Minister said to-day that reference had been made in some papers to sales of the new loan stock at prices below the issue value of the loan,. These transactions were nil known to the Treasury and he hoped in a few day 3 to publish the amounts involved. He could not of course indulge the names of the persons concerned; it would be found, however, that the amount of the sales was quite trifling, compared with the amount of the loan.

An interesting feature of the loan flotation which had been reported to him by the Treasury was the larpe number of meo with comparatively small means who were taking an interest in the loan.
