SECOND CHRISTCHURCH SALE. FIRMING OF SOME CLASSES. By Association. Christehurch, Last Night. The second Christehurch wool sale, was held to-day. Home as well .19 a full bench'of New Zealand buyers were represented. The sale showed a distinct firming in wools of 50 count and over, but anything below 50's met with disappointing enquiry, whilst values for half-hreds appreciated from 10 to 15 per .cent, over the initial sale. Coarse wools showed a further weakening of from 5 to 10 per cent. Three-quarter bred wool alSo eased on previous rates to the extent of id per lb. New Zealand mills operated splendidly for half-bred wool, and this competition, which was absent from the initial sale, established a higher standard of values. Early in the sale 16Jd was obtained for super half-bred, and this figure was frequently approached during the day. Homo representatives bid spiritedly for finer grades. A seven bale lot of Corriedaie wool was passed in at l'sd. General lots of down wool were passed at 12% d. Generally the sale was irregular, One lot of coarse crossbred wool Was passed in at lid, whilst the highest figure recorded for a sold lot was 9Jd for four bales of hogget wool. On an average Hie crossbred wool was about Id per lb. lower than at the initial sale.
