There were several wrecks during a siovm on the west and south cMßtjftlast night, including the big steamers Ansgir and Jlatlior oil Cornwall. The totalling sixty-nine, were rescued by the lifeboat rocket apparatus • The Hathor, with, her German erew, was interned in Chile throughout the war. TJie Ansgir belonged to the Ministry of Shipping, and was about to undergo survey before being handed over to the Japanese Government. ■When, the Ansgir struck it was lav possible to launch the boate, and an an* prentice aged nineteen swam ashore with a line, and communication wai obtained.—Reuter Service. ;
