NEW ZEALAND ORDER TOR AN . ENGLISH FIRM. ■ ' The Nottingham works of Messr*. Caramell, Laird and Co., have, says tht Daily Mail, secured a contract to'built 2500 railway wagons for the New Zetv land Government, at a cost .of £BOO,OO#, These works were built during the wirf to make munitions, and now employ about 1000 men. This contract will necessitate a large addition to the staff, in view of the other big orders now being extcuted for rolling stock • from variola parts of the world. The New Zealand contract was obtained against the oo* petition of some of the best-known American and French Arms, as well »* German.
