NEW SEASON'S MEAT.

SLAUGHTERING THIS MONTH. • It is anticipated that operations at the Taranaki Farmers' Company's meat works will commence for the season about the 13th inst. As matters in the pastoral industry, however, have been somewhat backward tins year, it is not expected there will be much stock coming forward until the new year A question affecting the re-opening of the freezing works in the Dominion on this occasion is the matter of increasing wages of employees, but this will in all probability be settled.,within the next week or two.

No information has yet been received in New Plymouth as to the date of the first shipment of the new season's meat. The only point concerning this phase is the question of delivery of the produce in the Home market, as the works will shortly be cleared of present stocks, leaving little likelihood of any congestion arising from accumulation of the past season's output.
