MOUNT EGMONT.
BUSY CHRISTMAS EXPECTED. BOOKINGS THROUGH JANUARY The holiday season at the North Egmont Mountain House promises to be a very busy one, and already there are numerous enquiries from people in various parts of the Dominion, Judging by present bookings the house will be full from about December 20 till the end of January, with the exception of a few vacancies. During October and November there have been a good number of visitors to the mountain. There was an unusually late fall of snow this year, in the first week in November, but the snow line is now receding. Motor service* from town are now running regularly to the house, one firm making three visits per week. A difficulty which is being encountered by the Tourist and Espant sion League is the shortage of aiccommodation in New Plymouth for visitors, and there is a possibility that some organisation of private residential sources will have to be availed of.
