BRIBERY ALLEGED.
A LABORER AND JURYMEN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmcrston N., Last Night. Thomas Martin, described as a laborer, was arrested at Palmerston North and
brought before Mr. Stout, S.M., charged, that on or about November !) he attempted to influence by bribe a juryman named Angus Ouncan Campbell in his conduct as such juryman in the case of the King v, F. S." Easton. In requesting ,(a remand, Detective Quirke said accused had been arrested only a few minutes prior to being brought before the Court, and there would be two other similar charges preferred against him. A remand was granted for one week, bail being fixed in self £2.00 and two sureties of £IOO each.
Charges ha+c since been laid against Martin alleging attempts to bribe Charles William Fuller, Edward Gilshnan, and John Rosanowski.
