"" In the House of Kepresentatives Mr. Tudor moved in accordance with Mr. Hughes' Bendigo pledge, 1919. that the Government would give effect to the basic wage finding. He stated that some industries were already paving the wage. From 1913 to 1918 production increased by 64 million*, but wages 'only 41 millions, or y ß d per cent. While the workers received .only 4% millions increase the manufacturers received !) millions profit. The debate was adjourned. AUSTRALIAN POLITICS. Sydney. Nov. 26. The annual conference of the Nationalist Party adopted a resolution in favor of all increase in invalid and old age pensions, in view of the high cost of living, and that the Government should rapport hospitals instead of leaving these institutions dependent on public fubscriptiona. —Aus.-N.Z.
