LOSS BY STRIKES.
WHAT AUSTRALIA SUFFERED. tj Ttlepiph.—Prew Association. Sydney, Nov. 26. ■During tbe period 1913 to 191 ft industrial disputes totalled 1678, involving 657,000 workers, and 10,000,000 working days were lost. The Commonwealth figures show 2613 disputes, affecting "61,000 workers and 14.809,000 days lost. At the annual meeting of the Employers' Federation the president, in his address, referring to time and money loet through strikes said that what Australia was suffering from was a temporary and accidental prominence and power of those autocratic Caesars and Jtomailoffß of the Labor Party. Until they were replaced by men of greater ability, experience and moderation there would be little respite from industrial turmoil and unrest. He claimed that the Arbitration Courts had proved a restraining influence and a power for good hardly to be over-estimated.—Aus. T .Z. Cable Assn.
