EXPORT OF MEAT.
THE MAMABTS CARGO. a shipment'for NEW YqRK. Two liners are now loading Taranaki meat—the Mamari taking a cargo at New Plymouth for England, and tha Eeitrim is at Waitara loading for New York. The Mamari has taken from the Taranaki Farmers' Meat Co., 449 casks of tallow, 779 case* of meat, 698 car* cases of lamb, 19,313 carcases of mutton, and a .small quantity of sundries, while the allotment from Borthwicks', railed and shipped from Waitara, comprises 78 casks of tallow, 2070 cases of meat, 223!) carcases of mutton, and 424 carcases of lamb. Yesterday the small steamer Wetere brought barges with the meat from Waitara to New Plymouth. It is hoped to complete the loading of the Mamari to-day, so that she can sail for Wauganui early to-morrow morning.
The Federal and Shire liner Leitrim arrived in the Waitara roadstead yesterday to load for New York. A cargo of lamb and first quality mutton, which will comprise the first shipment from the Taranaki Farmers' works to the New York market, will be railed to Waitara to be loaded on the Leitrim, but the exact quantity ha 9 not been fixed yet. Borth wicks' also hare an allot' ment on the Leitrim.
The only meat remaining in the Smart Road works after these two shipments will be a quantity of beef, which belongs to Vesteys. It is stated that Vesteys will have to provide for the shipment of this meat, and it is reported they are arranging for steamers to come to New Plymouth for this purpose.
