DETECTIVE'S CHARGES.
HOT THE SLIGHTEST FOUNDATION. By Telcsraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Minister of Justice to-night gave out Vor publication the report of the commission appointed to inquire into tie charges made by ex-Detective Mason against, Superintendent Norwood and Inspector Mcllveney alleging acts of misconduct by them in their official cipacities. The Commission states emphatically that there is not the slightest foundation for the charges, and that the officers lumed acted - with a proper sense of their responsibilities, without deviating in the 1.-list degree from their duty to act, in a fair, honorable, and straightforward li anncr. hi a spcical note, .lodge Stringer says no matter appearing to all'ect the administration of justice was disclosed duri ig the inquiry. Attached to the Commis-ioners' report i;i the finding of Superintendent Wright on a charge made by Mason against I.etoctive-Sergeant Kawle. Superintendent Wright finds the charge not sustained, and that Kawle's conduct of the. case in question was proper.
