CUBAN FINANCES.
HELP FROM AMERICA. ' By Telegraph,—Press Assn.—Copyright. New York, Oct. 15. Local bankers have shipped 10,000,000 dollars to Cuba in the last three days to ease the troubled situation there. In response to the appeal from the Cuban President for financial help, a conference wili be held in Washington to-day. It is rumored that a syndicate of banks and sugar interests is to form a pool to secure raw sugar at seven cents a pound, —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. Received Oct. 17 5.5 p.m. New York, Oct. 15. Means for relief of the Cuban financial situation have been taken up by a conference of American and Cuban sugar exporters and importers. The State Department's foreign trade advisors report that 'the Kingston (Jamaica) legislature has ratified a trade agreement with Canada under which Canada gives Jamaica fifty per cent preference on agricultural products and Jamaica gives the Dominion twenty-five per cent preference on her products.— Aus.-N.Z.
