By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. The War Office has distributed three million war medals, of which 275,000 are 1914-15 Stars. Six hundred thousand British war medals have gone to the overseas Dominions and the Colonies. The principal Fiji firms, Morris, Hedstrom, Ltd., and Henry Marks and Co., Ltd., have amalgamated, with a capital of £ 1,000,000. At the Air Conference in London, Air Marshal Ellington, Director of Resoarch, stated that experiments would be miyle with steam turbines instead of a petrol engine. A telegram from San Jose states that four motor bandits robbed a bank anii killed the president. They locked the customers in the vaults, and escaped with £IO,OOO. London, Oct. 13. The shipping strike at Dublin has been settled. New York, Oct. 12. Farmers of the western and southern States had a meeting witli the Federal Reserve Board and the Government banking control agency, and threatened to hold up production of cotton and wheat unless prices reached 40 cents and 3 dollars respectively, and the board allowed credits to farmei'9.
