YOUNG FARMER'S DEATH.

STRAIN AFTER A MEAL. A young farmer, Robert J. Hodson, of Waihi, met his death under unusual circumstances on Wednesday. Deceased, who worked on his mother's farm at Waihi, went out about 12.30 on Wednesday to his team of horses, which had been.standing yoked up. He intended trimni-ng the horses' hoofs and was brought a /asp and (tie by his wife, who returned to the house. About a quarter of an hour later Hodson's mother looked out of the window, arid saw him lying on the ground. He was found to be unconscious and was frothing at the nose and mouth. ■ Hodson was removed to the hospital immediately, but never regainod consciousness, and succumbed about 4.50 p.m. At the inquest held before Mr. T. A. B. Bailey, S.M., yesterday, Dr. Wade, who had made a post mortem of the body, attributed the cause of death tq lie an extensive haemorrhage, which he found on the surface of the brain. The stomach was very extended, and witBess thought that the injury resulted from an excessive strain brought about by deceased's bending down over the work after a meal.

Ivy D. Hodson said that deceased was 27 years of age, and hai* never previously complained of illness to her. A finding was returned in accordance with the medical evidence.
