2s lOd A LB, TO-DAY. | Butter wag sold in New Plymouth shops on .Saturday at the increased price of 2s !)d per lb, and from to-day the price will be 2b lOd. As various firms ran out of the old supplies they had to buy new season's at. 2s 7d wholesale, and this was retailed at 2s Od. From now on, however, the wholesale price will be 2s 7Jd, and the retail 2s lOd. The advanced price on Saturday came into operation at varying times during the day. One firm had sufficient of the old stock to last late into the afternoon. FIXED PRICE THIS WEEK. SOSIE ASSISTANCE LIKELY. (By Wire—Parliamentary Reporter). Wellington, Last Night. The Butter Committee has to report to the House this week, and the report is likely to provoke a good deal of discussion. The Government may decide, to come to the assistance of the consumer, though certainly not to the extent of the full difference in priee as bv- J tween the old and the new season's I butter.
