BARTERING OR BUYING VOTES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. London, Sept. 12. Mr. Smillie created a sensation in the Union Congress in following up the allegations of vote bartering amongst the unions for the election of Parliamentary committees. Challenged by the president, Mr. Smillie made a definite statement that there was vote buying. A committee was appointed at his suggestion to inquire into the allegations.— Renter.
