Bolshevist newspapers reports that the liquidation of private banks, which was begun aftor tho socialisation in February, has now been completed, and shows that the assets amount to twentyeight thousand million roubles, and the liabilities to twenty-three thousand million roubles. The banks' holdings of securities and books have been placed under a single State department, with headquarters at Moscow. Credits in the current accounts of individuals have been recognised up to ten thousand roubles, but moneys beyond that amount have been confiscated as revolution tax. —Aus.-N.Z.
