ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
KILLED AT A SAWMILL. By Telejrapl' —Press Association. Palmerston N. Sept. "11. A returned soldier, William Henry Whiting, aged 24, whose widowed mother resides at Palmerston North, was killed at a sawmill at Tangiwai, on the Main Trunk line, on Wednesday. While riding on a bush train, he fell under a truck, and hiß body was terribly mutilated. He went to the front with the 3rd Reinforcement, was wounded four timea, and was awarded the Military Medal.
