EX-GERMAN LINERS.

DISPOSAL TO MEET SHORTAGE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 12, 5.5 p.m. London, Sept. 11. It is understood Lord Inchcape is receiving satisfactory inquiries regarding the forty-two ex-German liners which hn is offering for sale. It is pointed out that while there is no great shortage of tramp tonnage, liner tonnage is still required for replacement. It' is expected that the big companies will buy the largest vessels, for example the Bismarck, as their running requires specialised management, but the smaller vessels should rind a ready sale as there is a great shortage.—Aus.-N.Z.
