NEW FORM OF TERRORISM. SHOCKING SINN FEIN CRIMES. By Telegraph.~PMss ism.— Copyright. , : Received Sept. 12, 5.5 p.m. London, Sept. 11. A new type of outrages has commenced in Ireland. In the presence of a large crowd an engine-driver was chained to a tramway standard with a placard inscribed "scab" across his chest. Another man was blindfolded and bound to a telegraph pole in the chief street of Carrickmacross, while a placard with the words "I am a thief; 1 stole eggs," was fastened to him. Another body of Sinn Feiners seized ex-Captain Murphy, a well-known Tralee man, while golfing, and stripped him and tarred him from head to waist. It was alleged he had applied for a cadetship in the Irish Constabulary.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn. RE-ARMING CONSTABULARY. MODERN WEAPONS PROVIDED. Received Sept. 13, 12.30 p.m. London, Sept. 12. The Sunday Times says the re-arming of the Irish Constabulary with the latest army rifles and powerful revolvers is well advanced. Mr. Forbes, traffic superintendent at Donegal, fought ten men attempting to raid a mail van, and he captured one and shot two dead. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
