WANGANUI BEAT TARANAKI. (By Wire.—Special to News.) Kaponga, Last Night, At hockey, Wanganui (3) beat Taranaki (1) after a close game. NORTH DEFEATS SOUTH. Wellington, Sept. 11. Tho hockey match between teams repre-' senting the North and South Islands, was played in Wellington to-day. Norlh won by three goals to one. The game was interesting, but the North Island were superior. The goals for the winners were scored by Blundell and Tucker (2), while Amos scored for the South. During the course of the game, McGregor, of the North team, had his nose broken, and Amos (South) sustained a broken finger on the left hand.
