Handicap, worth £;',.",0, over about a two mile course on the Brisbane River, in which (he leading scullers competed, The (list heat proved an easy task for Foltoii, with McDe.'itt second, and C. Messenger third. Time, 20 50. The second heat resulted: Christensen (Queensland) 1, C. Mattersnn 2, Short 3. Barry, from scratch, only managed to get fourth place, twelve lengths behind Short. Time, 18 42. Third Heat.—Arnst 1, Rloloy 2, West 3, with Towns fourth. Arnst, with long and powerful strokes, steadily wore down the earlier starters, getting in front in the Inst -lialfmiie and winning comfortably. Time, 17.20%. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
