ENTERTAINMENTS.

"THE DIGGERS." The continued popularity of this excellent company was again fully demonstated by the overflowing audience that : packed the Empire Theatre- last night. The Diggers have great versatility. They have capital singers, burlesque artists, clever dancers, and every element that makes for fun and jollity. The overtures and accompaniments by the excellent orchestra were a marked feature of the performance, and contributed not a little towards the success they achieved. Tano Kama, in his comic patter songs, I and in the character sketches with Gus Dawson, was immense, and kept his' hearers in fits of laughter. Stan Lawson, as the leading lady, was fascinating and attraotive. His acting of the various parts gave for him strong favoritism with the audience. The comedian conjurer, Donald Stuart, made a great hit in his tricks, so good and yet so seemingly simple and innocent His stage ways were immense,, and quite brought down the house. ( In every respect the company are clever and good, and thoroughly deserved the great and cordial enthusiasm which again greeted the performance. To-night, the Diggers will stage a complete change of programme, interspersed with a few items which are being repeated by a special request.
