It is understood that Poland, in replying to the United States Note advising that the Polish armies should not advance beyond the ethnographic boundaries, pointed out that strategic considerations must govern the extent of the Polish advance, since it. would be extremely dangerous otherwise, especially if an unsatisfactory guarantee wore obtained from the Soviet. Poland expressed satisfaction at the attitude of the United States towards Poland, but declared that Russia had failed to stop at the ethnographic boundaries in the advance on Warsaw—Aus.-N'.Z. Cable Assn. BUDENY'S ARMY WIPED OUT. London, Sept. 2. A Polish communique claims that Budeny's army, which has been causing the Poles considerable trouble, in Gaiicia, has been annihilated. As the result of a. Polish violation of the frontier and the conflicts' with Lithuanian troops, the Polish military mission at Ivovno has been requested to leave Lithuanian territory.—Renter.
