THE LABOR CABLEGRAM. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taumarumii, Last Night. A meeting of timber workers and other workers at Raetihi passed the following resolution: "That this large and representative, meeting of King Country timber workers ami oilier workers heartily endorse and support the action of tho New Zealand Labor Party's cable to the Committee of Action in England, approving of their timely and necessary action to prevent the outbreak of another war, and believe with Mr. J. R. Clynes, M.P., when he Bays that if the Government ic unable to prevent future wars the people will do it for them." WELLINGTON DISPUTE SETTLED. Wellington, Last Night. The 'matters in dispute between the Wellington Gas Company and its employees were discussed to-day at a meeting of the Disputes Committee set up for the purpose. A decision was arrived at on all points in dispute,' and a meeting of the union will be held, at a date yet to he fixed, to consider the question of accepting this settlement. PASSPORT DIFFICULTY .REMOVED. Wellington, Last Night. On July 23 the American ConsulGeneral at Auckland advised the Prime Minister that 1 , acting under instructions from Washington, all passengers 'travelling in steamers calling at the port of Honolulu were required to carry passports that had been vised by an American Consular officer. The Secretary of State; for the Colonies was immediately advised of the position, and was informed that the New Zealand Government was strongly of opinion that passengers by British steamers for Vancouver should not he required to have their passports vised unless they desired to go ashore at Honolulu. Advice has now been received by the Prime Minister from the American ConaulGeneral at Auckland that he has received instructions from Washington that in future passengers travelling on steamers calling at American ports need not have their passports vised unless they actually disembark on American territory.
