A drowning accident occurred at 1.30 this morning, when Carl Ziska, mate of the steamer Ruawai, was drowned while the vessel was berthing at the. Ilelensville wharf. The body was recovered at noon. The deceased was' well known and highly respected. He 'had been in the service of the Kaipara Steamship Co. for some years. A SUDDEN DEATH. Auckland, August 22. Abraham Fletcher, an elderly man, sat on a chair at the Auckland Savings Bank, evidently to fill in a bank slip, and expired almost instantly. Death was due to heart affection.
