GENERAL CABLES.
Bjr, Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyrlsht. The French Soviet Parliamentary Party followed its protest against the expulsion of Mr. Adamson by demanding the immediate convocation of Parliament and impeaching of the Clemenceau and Millerand Ministries. Speaking at Colombo (Ohio), Mr. J. M. Cox said: "We propose that after March, 1921, if I am elected, that we shall enter the League of Nations with the least possible delay. The Democratic platform gives full license and opportunity to enter the League upon terms needing no defence. Our position is not unbending, it is not captious; we proclaim that we will accept any conditions that interpret or call attention to the limitations of our constitution and that serve full notice upon the powers of the earth that we can go no further. Shipping circles in Japan complain that the influence of Japanese merchantmen in the South Seas has declined owing to the resumption of operations by foreign, shipping companies, particularly British and Dutch. It is pointed out that the only Japanese concern nowmaintaining a regular service there is subsidised by the Government.
