LOANS FROM AMERICA.
LIQUIDATION BY FRANCE. By Teleeraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. New York, August 18. M. Jean V. Paitoentier, administrator of the French Ministry of Finance, reached here yesterday. The purpose of his visit is to floait a loan of 100,000,000 dollars in the United States with which to pay France's part of the AngloFrench loan of 250,000,000 dollars, due in October.
Following on a conference between b'rench Treasury representatives and the J. P. Morgan Company, it waa announced* that preparations had been made for the liquidation of the French share of the AnjjJii-Freneh !oa.u raised in the United Stotcs. lit was pointed out that the French tobacco monopoly was cot included within the liquidation plan.— AU3.-N.Z.
