ALARM IN MESOPOTAMIA.
FURTHER SERIOUS OUTBREAKS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyrlsht. Received August 20, 7.15 p.m. London, August ?9. The War Office states that further outbreaks have occurred in Mesopotamia on a considerable scale, particularly north-east and west of Bagdad. Bands of tribesmen cut the railways and the telegraph from Bagdad to Kifri Kiruwards. Part of the garrison here was invested, and several railway bridges were burnt. The Euphrates communications with the Radami and Feluja garrisons were cut. Tribes south of Bagdad are quiet. The Kufah garrison is still holding out. The revolutionary movement, which was ai first political, has become anarchic. The former ring-leaders are alarmed at the turn events are taking, and are throwing their influence on the side of peaee.
Reinforcements from India are en route.—Reuter Service.
