CONCLUSION OP PAEt WEEK. YESTERDAY'S TAKINGS £IOO. To-day marks the conclusion of the week of carnival gaiety with which ha» .bsfen terminated the effort to wise £IOOO towards the Pukekura Park' funds. Paddy's Market was opened at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon, aod there were a good many waiting admission when the doors were opened. The appearance of the hall has been somewhat altered, and the additional stalls erected and the goods crowding the tables give the place a rather cosmopolitan aspect. The huge and« varied assortment of articles sent to Mxp. Burgess during the past few weeks have been get out tn a way that makes them easily seen and handled. The articles we as vwied as they are 'numerous, and then are bargains to be had if one likes to seek them out. The suburbs of Fitzroy and .Vogeltown bave each brought in and are managing stalls rf quite considerable dinwMwni, and they did no mean amount of business. The supply from WestoWn, and the Central and West End Schools were put in with two stalls as there was no one at the tine to wAnage a stall for them. Mr®. Anderson and Kirkby brought along a stall of excellent fancy work, and Meadames Scvwlon apd C. M. Hill set up a cake stall. Another that occupied a copepicuous position was one furnished by dry goods merchants of the Dominion, on which there was a splendid assortment of general household rtyercliaiuHfe. There was also a meat and poultry stall, which was under the management of the Rev. «T. P. Martin, who made #»capable salesman, and to whom the la4ta* '#*• indebted not only for his taking chaise pf this stall, but also for cutting Up ffie hams tor making the sandwich*. There was a large attendance throughout the evening, and the fact that the takings totalled £IOO shows that there was liberal paronage. This brings the total receipts to £370. D&neingwas indulged in by a great mstoy- y«tag people, the music last night being given by Mrs. Moverley'i? orchestra. Some competitions concluded last night resulted as follows: Minorca cockerel, won by Mr. Gleeson; box of to, Miss Burrow. Paddy's Market will be open all day to-day from 10 o'clock this mornin?. when additional supplies of goods #ill be offered for disposal.
