GIRLS' HOSTEL SCHEME.
CONCERT IN AID OF FUNDS. An impromptu concert staged at Everybody's Theatre, New Plymouth, last evening by the Lyrici Costume Comedy Company, was the means of raising a substantial sum in aid of the proposed girls' hostel to be instituted here. The company, who completed a very successful two-night season locally on Saturday, were approached by the Mayoress (Mrs. Jas. Clarke), with a view to a concert being arranged, as the party would be in New Plymouth over the week-end, and they readily agreed to the proposal. Notwithstanding somewhat short notice there was a large attendance at the concert. The programme was of the high standard for which the Lyrics are noted, and items appropriate to the occasion were chosen fihe Company's extensive repertoire, hearty appreciation being shown by the audience. The Mayoress desires to thank all who patronised the function, and the concerty party for kindly giving their services.
