I A Press telegram from Greymouth reports the death of Dr. James Mcßrearty, senr., a well-known Greymouth doctor. Messrs W. D. Powdrell, R. Masters, and W. T, Jennings, M.P.'s, are spending the week-end in Taranaki, Our Parliamentary reporter telegraphs that the Hon. G. Anderson, Minister of Internal Affairs, is seriously 111. He is likely tq be laid up for a considerable time. A cafblo from London reports the death of Vice-Admiral Napier, commanding the North station, from enteric, at Hamilton, Bermuda. The many friends of Mr. A. Hansen (Manjiia), will regras to heav that he met With a very seri ms accident, being kicked by a horse, and severely injuring one ear, and necessitating his removal to the Hawera Hospital.—Star. The funeral of the late Mrs. Jas. McLeod took place yesterday at Te Henni cemetery, and was laregly attended, representatives beiijg present from the various institutions with which Mr. McLeod is associated, to pay their last respects. There were also a large number of floral tributes. Rev. F. G. Harvie read the service at the graveside.
