EXCITEMENT IN ADELAIDE. STEPS TO STOP DEPORTATION. Telegraph.—Prtss Assn.—Copyright. Received July 20, 8.30 p.m. Adelaide, July 20. The city is in a turmoil over the Jerger case. Wild scenes are expected in the. vicinity of the Court when the hearing resumes on Wednesday. Father Jerger's supporters are working actively. Trains and steamers are closely watched, and efforts are being made to secure' the co-operation Of the men on the East-West line to prevent deportation overland. ■ All likely places of departure are secretly picketed.— Aus.-N.Z.
