Telegrams from the Polish front indicate a general retreat of the Poles on the entire front from Vllna to Camineta and Godolsk. A Moscow wireless claims success everywhere. Labor disorders, with incident rioting and looting of food shops, are occurring in the industrial districts of Shanghai, owing to the mounting price of rice. It is estimated that only four days' rice supply is available. Mr. Lloyd George goes to Spa to-day. It is understood Britain is standing firm on absolute German disarmament. Lord d'Abcrnon has gone to Berlin as British Ambassador. Krassin is returning to Moscow to explain the hitch in the trade negotiations and seek fresh powers with some prospects of reaching a commercial agreement with Britain. The Empire Development Parliamentary Committee is bringing pressure to bear on the Minister of Health to permit Boards of Guardians to all otallowances for the upkeep of orphan boys to to oversea schemes for the emigration of children.
