Hutchison, in his presidential address at the Labor Conference at Scarborough, said the League of Nations had been quietly strangled at birth by the victorious Powers, who were continuing a military alliance under the guise of the Supreme Council. The best argument for British Labor support of Russia was. the fact that all capitalists and Governments had shown a determination to overthrow the. Soviet. Mr. Hutchison demanded the unconditional withdrawal of troops from Ireland, and declared that the Empire could not be held together by forces Ays.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
