THE PRINCE.
TWENTY-SIXTH BIKIHDAY. HONORED IN SYDNEY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 24, 12.5 a.m. Sydney, June 23. Extra interest centred in the Prince's doings to-day, owing to it being his birthday. He received many congratulations, and there were frequent impromptu demonstrations in his honor. He attended a great schools birthday display on the cricket ground, 20,000 children participating in various tableaux, the chief feature being a group forming the Prince of Wales' feathers, with the words "Happy Returns of the Day" as a base. Subsequently the Prince .visited the University, where the degree of L.L.D. was conferred on him. The weather was brilliant. To-night the Prince is attending the Queen's Club ball at the Town Hall— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. [Yesterday was the 2Cth anniversary of the birth of the Prince of Wales Flags were flown on the Government buildings at New Plymouth and other eentres in honor of the occasion.]
