The butchers threaten to strike with a view of forcing tne Government to act so as to relieve the present unsatisfactory meat situation. Prominent butchers declare there is a shortage of good meat throughout the United Kingdom, and the public is exasperated at receiving inferior qualities of long-stored meat, chiefly South African anil New Zealand. The difficulty is accentuated by British farmers holding stock back from sale, hoping for a rise in prices after the. removal of Government control. .
