The demands of tho New .Plymouth tramway men for higher w&geß wero again heforo the Borough Council IMt night, when the Tramway Union wrote stating that they turned down absolutely the Council's offer as regards wages. Correspondence in regard to rates of pay paid to tramwaymen \tfas reotVtt4 from Dunedin, Christchurch, and Napier. After a discussion, the Mayor moved: "That tho Tramway Union be informed that the tramwaymen would receive wages in accordance with the Council's .offer, dating from tho present time, and further, that the Council agree to give any increase awarded by the Arbitration Court on June 4th "
