BOXING.

THIJ WEEK'S TOURNAMENT. Titers Is much Interest throughout Tarnnaki in tJio first boxing tournament under the auspices of the Taranaki Boxing Association, which will be held In the Empire Theatre, Now Plymouth on Wednesday and Thursday night, and a large attendance representative of all parts of Taranaki Is expected. All the amateur events have filled well, and competition between representatives of Ihe various centres (North, Central, and Southern Taranaki) will be very keen. Owing to A. .T.. King having been wrongly entered as a lightweight. Instead of a heavyweight, It has been found necessary to draw those sections again. A pleasing feature Is tfie way in which tho heavyweight flection has filled. At unost tournaments there are very few entries, but hero there will be five contestants necessitating second bouts. The professional "bouts each evening should also be worth witnessing, for though the purses in each case are only moderate. It Is probable that the winners will be matched by the Association at. a later tournament. Following is the complete draw at tho tournament : Bantam-weight—l?. Cantell (New Plymouth) v. A.
