REASON FOR KITTAWA'S MISHAP. By Telegraph.—Pros? Association. .Auckland. Last Xi-ht. Ihe Court of Inquiry concerning the stranding of the steamer Kittawu on Mamikau Bar on February ?> found the mishap was due to a new bank in the harbor, necessitating the captain relv'nS on the directions of the signalman, and a fog obscured the signals at a critical moment. The mishap was not directly or indirectly contributed to by the negligence of any person.
